Grandma's horror stories
The type of clothes you wear and the kinds of accessories you use to either jazz them up or tone them down says a lot about who you are, where you’re from, what you do, and how you feel about yourself and others. However, the biggest influence on my dressing style is my grandmother. Because of her, I could find my own dressing style. But my relationship with my grandmother is very delicate. I respect her very much, but I am also afraid of her.
All this is because of the terrible superstitions she told me from childhood. In Chinese culture, superstitions are a part of everyday life. Like any other culture around the world, some traditional Chinese superstitions may seem strange, but they hold significant value. To keep children safe, their parents would scare them with this superstition. In this collection, I hopes to combine the exquisite handicraft of slow fashion with avant-garde design and pursue the balance of practicality and artistry. I extracts elements from each story and explores different technologies and materials from the story itself, such as Macrame, beading, latch hooking, crochet, etc.
