Thesis Statement

Waking up with the rising alpine sun— suiting up for the day with excitement— hitting the early morning groomed slopes— arriving at the afternoon après-ski party at the Dante snow lodge— sitting by the warm afternoon fire in our cozy base layers— dressing in decadence for the much anticipated dinner at an Aspen hotspot— the collection can support the wearer day to night effortlessly with utility, versatility, and sustainability. This is a day enjoying winter resort life in which our collection is the star.

Du jour au soir is a collection inspired by love of travel. The experience of different environments: human designed interior spaces and naturally occurring exterior spaces provided endless inspiration for the aesthetic direction through texture, digital print design, and ergonomically considered shape. Love of the planet has spurred a dedication to creating sustainably through use of natural fibers, up-cycling, and ethical small batch making practices.

Bio

Originally from New Orleans and based in NYC, the Guidry twins are 2022 graduates of Parsons School of Design. Growing up in New Orleans with the city’s love of exuberant masquerades and yearly trips to Aspen to enjoy winter sports has given the sisters an appreciation of the theatrical and the decadent. Their love of travel and the experience of different environments: human designed interior spaces and naturally occurring exterior spaces provides endless inspiration for their aesthetic direction. Their love of the planet has spurred a dedication to creating sustainably through use of natural fibers, up-cycling, and ethical small batch making practices. Their understanding of the winter resort lifestyle has inspired them to design a thesis with versatility, utility, and sumptuous, glamor which takes the wearer from a day on the mountain to dinner and drinks off the mountain. The future for the Guidry twins will include niche active and evening wear with continued emphasis on sustainability.
