PANOPLY

a complete or impressive collection of things; a splendid display; a full suit of armor; ceremonial attire; something forming a protective covering

about the collection

A panoply can be a complete collection of items, a suit of armor, an ornate display, or a formation of a protective covering. This collection was created and titled with the intention to build a world of comfort, safety, and joy. With a focus on tactility and materials, inspiration stemmed from the qualities of medieval suit armor, animals’ armored skins, and the psychological effects that clothing has on its wearer every day. Accordingly, this collection was formed to explore a visual representation of the psychological protection of clothing, and the ways that simply existing within these pieces may allow the wearer to find comfort, solace, and even joy and gratification.
