Meilun Yan

Meilun Yan is a multidisciplinary creative based in New York City. Born in Shanghai, China, and raised in Sydney, Australia, she utilizes her creative practice as a mode of self-exploration and storytelling by pulling from personal thoughts and past experiences. Her work is rooted in playful experimentations combined with intuitive processes which include collage, freeform weaving, knit, and crochet to blur the artistic boundaries of fashion and art. Through an artful, handcrafted approach, working mostly with found and eco-friendly materials, she captures a raw, childlike essence in her works while honoring tradition and history.
