Ruby Zhang

Inspired by a decade of painting experience, Qianru is obsessed with reconstructing textures as presentation of depths and colors in her artistic and design approaches. She sees fabrics as the strokes that establish visual arts, and the movement of the fabrics as paints that flow over a blank canvas. Her romanticism was born naturally. So is the fluidity that grows from her silhouettes.

Qianru's latest Flow collection delivers a series of abstract depictions of flow. Appreciating this visual beauty of the textures that flow around the bodies, and her own culture backgrounds, the designer is greatly influenced by Chinese philosophies extracted from Tao Te Ching, Jiangnan Garden design, and traditional Chinese materiality methods including Ancient Chinese dye.
