Materiality

Bio
There’s a feeling you get when wearing something that belongs on a man that is subconsciously empowering as a woman. That dominant and confident feeling a woman feels is what I design for. Experimenting and breaking out of my minds box has pushed my collection into new directions that has shaped me into the designer I am today. Now graduating in 2022 from Parsons school of design, my thesis collection, “YuhJaYah”, displays that through new materiality, textures, and colors. Utilizing upcycling methods and keeping the rawness of the original menswear piece but transforming it into something a woman would have in her closet creating a harmonious combination.
